Training updates
training updates:
Whinnie is going very well both in and out of the ring. What a nice filly and a fantastic size at 13.1 7/8!! She is for sale and will make a great hunter pony. And with her lovely buckskin color she won't get lost on the rail.
Rocco went home to Va and settled right into work for his Mom, Sandy Rose of Wynnbrook Farm. He is already pulling a plastic sled around with Mom in it! She is tickled with his progress and plans on making him a driving pony.
Cory is the sweetest 2 year old filly there is and is taking to her u/s training well. She is becoming more confident on the trail, crossing water and cantering the cornfield. She is going well under saddle and has taken to ponying like a champ. She will be headed home soon for the rest of the winter off.
Joe is here to learn some manners and to be started under saddle. He has gotten through a bad abcess in a hind foot, is now driving and has had a rider. What a lovely yearling colt and at nearly 16 hands he sure is impressive.
Bee's yearling daughter, Elle, went home and is happy to be with mom again. She is such a kind girl and thankfully so as she is about 16 hands and 1,100 lbs! She will be back in the spring to finish up on her kindergarten lessons.
Tigger is back to work as a pony horse for the babies, just trail riding and babysitting. What a life....
Sparky spent a couple of weeks with us for a tune up and, as always, took our hearts with him when he went home. He was a star at the double gold show in Earlville coming home with all kinds of tri-colors in everything from H/U/S to Half Welsh in hand to Pleasure Pony. That is one special pony.
Frankie is back from Gaithersburg with Leila Hertzberg and is wonderful. We love him! Leila has him going super and he is for sale now. He is a top of the line med with personality to spare. And he has the same lovely roan color as his father, Loafer's Lodge Spring Ahead.
Big Betty is here for some tuning up and some steady riding. She is getting more fit and is really solid on her swaps already. This mare has had some very good schooling where she came from.
Miss T is a wonderful kid's pony. What an amazing pony to deal with and an honest girl! She is ridden bareback alot and is super brave on the trails. Jacque even has her riding in nothing but a neck rope! Correct leads and swaps and all. Well done, Jacque!
We have Martha here for some training. Not sure of what she already knows we have restarted her. She's convinced us that she doesn't remember ever being trained! She is timid with people but is a very fancy, kind pony and is a favorite already.
Renny and Nemo have started their training and all are going well so far. The kids and I were having a little contest to see who can train a better pony in a month. Jacque's pony had to go home for the winter so the contest is postponed for now. Jacque was winning as of the break with her pony being ridden out and handled well in all situations.
